Mission/Outreach
Bus Ministry
The Bus Ministry provides transportation to worship services and other
church-related services.
Matrons
The Matrons of the church provide sisterhood for young married women ages 18-30. They hold workshops to teach religious principles of marriage, parenting skills, and other subjects of interest.
Media Ministry
Each week, New Salem produces television and radio programming that is broadcasted to thousands of people worldwide. In addition, we have audio and videotape duplication facilities that sends tapes across the country.
Prison Ministry
Members of the Prison Ministry provide monthly religious services to witness to those in prison.
Angel Tree
Angel Tree is a church sponsored project, which is an outreach of the Prison Ministry and the Circle of Love Ministry. This ministry provides gifts for children with parents that are incarcerated.
Willing Workers
The Willing Workers are committed people that support the ministry through volunteer service. Members of this ministry work diligently to assist the needy within the community and to help spread the Gospel message worldwide.
Big Brother and Big Sister
The men and women of the Big Brother and Big Sister Ministry make a personal contact with each member uniting with the church family. Once the contact has been made the big brother or the big sister becomes a faith partner with the new member.
Circle of Love
The Circle of Love ministry extends a helping hand to children and young adults to deter them from a life of crime. This is done by providing support systems for families of the incarcerated, sponsoring the Angel Tree at Christmas, and assisting the Prison Ministry with visitations to correctional centers.
Hospitality
One of the first impressions of our church family is presented at the front door. The Hospitality Ministry provides an atmosphere of warmth and acceptance to the members and guests of New Salem by extending loving gestures of hospitality to all. Each visitor is humbly thanked for choosing to worship with us and encouraged to visit again. Lastly, every visitor is presented with an information gift packet about our ministry.
In Touch
Members of the In Touch Ministry contact the new members the first week they unite with the church and encourage them to complete a total of 6 orientation classes.
New Membership
The New Membership Ministry assists the new members by scheduling dates for baptism and making sure that a total of 6 orientation classes are completed.
Newsletter
The Newsletter Ministry publishes a quality newsletter to highlight various church activities and the ministries of the church.
Prayer Band
The Prayer Band visits private homes, nursing homes, and hospitals to pray for and encourage those that are sick. This is our way of letting them know that we love them and that we are praying for them.
Prayer Counselors
The Prayer Counselors pray for our church, our world, and each other. They are responsibe for answering the telephones during the radio broadcast and television telecast to pray for those that stand in the need of a special blessing.
